The Most Collectible Book Of The Year Award 1992
The uncut sheets
of one and two dollar bills used in the production of Last Call were
bought from the U.S. Treasury Department.
When the mint
was notified that the sheets had to be cut and pasted into the book
the call was immediately transferred to the F.B.I. and I was told that
the bills had to be either left alone or cut into individual usable
bills. “However, it sounds like a great idea”, the Federal agent said.
“And you will be through with production by the time you receive your
cease and desist orders.” I told the agent that yes, it was a great
idea but if it was illegal then Charnel House would take no part in
it.
I thanked the
man then called my hand binder and said, “Cut ‘em!” The edition went
out of print in one week and now sells for eight times it’s published
price if you can find it, and if you do don’t get caught with it!
And whatever you do, don’t mention my name!!
